   The educational system in Australia is quite similar to that in India. They follow the same 12 years of primary, junior and high school. There are several Universities in Australia and all of them have created a name for themselves. The education system is governed by six states individually consisting of (New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria), 2 mainland territories (Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory) and other minor territories. The Australian system also consists of both Private and Public Universities. For an international student to be able to study in a high school, they need to show the history of their two years of study in their home country. There is always a reference of G8 with Australian Universities which are eight universities which have grouped themselves which is in recognition of their perceived reputation. Their names and locations are mentioned as below:-

  1. University of Adelaide –Adelaide , South Australia

  2. Australian National University – Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

  3. University of Melbourne– Melbourne, Victoria

  4. Monash University- Melbourne, Victoria

  5. University of New South Wales – Sydney, New South

  6. University of Queensland- Brisbane, Queensland

  7. University of Sydney- Sydney, New South Wales

  8. University of Western Australia – Perth, Western Australia

Application Process:-

       One of the First Steps into the application process is to get the application form for the educational institution being applied to which can be collected either from an Australian Education Agency or Institutions education nominated officer.
The documents required along with the application form are as follows:-

 1. The Full details of the previous education completed with a copy of the qualifications achieved.

 2. An evidence of proficiency of the English language for both undergraduate and post graduate studies as well as vocational education and training is also required.

 3. Finally, an evidence of financial capabilities of the student according to the home country’s assessment level will be needed.

The Second step is to send this application form to the concerned Educational Institution which once on receiving they will screen through. Once all the requirements are met, they send a letter of confirmation which is required for the VISA application.
Thirdly, most institutions ask for payment of their First semester before a student applies for his VISA. Do ensure to check the Educational Institution’s requirements while applying.

   According to a recent study by the Australian Government, Tuition Fees have been found to be the most competitive, giving the much better value as compared to other countries with regards to similar courses. The various Tuition Costs are classified as follows:

 1. For Undergraduate Courses which are Lab Based- A$ 11,000 to A$16,500 and for Non Lab Based- A$10,000 to A$13,000.

 2. For Post Graduate courses- Graduate Certificates/ Graduate Diplomas- A$ 9,000 to A$16,000 and for Masters Degree courses/ Doctoral Degree Programmes- A$11,000 to A$ 18,500.

 3. MBA courses- A$15,000 to A$30,000. Duration on an MBA course varies from 9 to 15 months.

 4. Cost of living and other expenses it is calculated that at an average an international student spends about A$360 per week.
