Why Study in New Zealand :-

  Since this country has remained a British Colony, they follow the British education system. This system offers valuable opportunities for international students and various interns for an academic and personal challenge in an English-speaking school system that is compatible with their own home country. The best part being, that all international education programs are considered "accredited" and hence are closely monitored by the New Zealand Government. The education system can be entered at any level and stage. As for the University, the session starts in March and ends in November and the enrolling start at the beginning of each semester. The University’s are owned by the state and all courses are research based offering all courses from certificate to doctorate. A student can choose from eight state universities, five colleges of education, twenty-five state polytechnics and institutions of technology, four- hundred secondary schools and more than one-hundred private providers.

 While planning to study abroad, there are some basic aspects which must be looked into as it makes the move and settling there hassle free. They are mentioned as follows:-

 a) First is to get a letter of acceptance from the university applied to which will help later to get the VISA.

 b) Show proof of adequate funding which should be able to cover the Tuition fees along with cost of living expenditure and the ability to return to their home country.

 c) Interviews for the Visa are normally taken only when the officer is not satisfied with the Application or there is requirement of clarification.

 d) Evidence that the English language requirements (IELTS, SAT test scores etc) are met and If applying for credit for previous studies, one must complete the credit transfer section on the undergraduate application form.

 e) A statement of purpose which is quite often requested by some university’s which is like an essay about the student. One should write about his goals, achievements, experiences and interests which should distinguish and make the student stand out from the rest of the applicants.
 f) A Letter of Recommendation by a previous teacher of the student providing specific information which the committee members can use to determine the applicant’s strengths and that will help shape an interview.

 The Expenses depend on the type of course and style of living one has. The Tuition fees are mentioned below in terms of $NZ:-
 a) English Language Courses approximately NZ$320 - NZ$400 per week.

 b) Secondary School normal tuition fees are from NZ$8,000 - NZ$10,500 per year for most schools but some private schools are more expensive. 

 c) Polytechnic Courses these range from NZ$10,000 - NZ$15,000 per year depending on the course or degree.

 d) University Degrees from NZ$10,500 - NZ$16,000 per year for most under-graduate degrees.

 e) Post-graduate Degrees begin from NZ$15,000 per year and MBA Degrees are about NZ$22,000.

 The Expenses vary on the kind of spending habits a student has and his lifestyle. However, a student should be able to live in New Zealand for a total cost of living of between NZ$10,000 and NZ$12,000 annually including accommodation, transport and entertainment.

 It is also a fact that New Zealand has the lowest cost of living among most developed countries.
